Jenny Campbell: From Bank Cash Counter to Dragons’ Den and YourCash Success

Jenny Campbell is a British businesswoman, entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den investor whose career is unusual because her entrepreneurial breakthrough came after three decades in banking. She left formal education at 16 and began working in a bank branch counting cash, later completing professional banking qualifications and rising through the industry. Her corporate career included involvement in integrating NatWest into the Royal Bank of Scotland. That background eventually became the foundation for the business story that made Campbell widely known: taking control of a struggling cash-machine operation and developing it into the European ATM company YourCash. Her television profile grew when she joined the BBC’s Dragons’ Den for Series 15, first broadcast in 2017, sitting alongside investors including Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani.

Campbell moved from traditional banking into business turnaround work in 2006 when she became Director of Operations at Hanco ATM Systems. This RBS-owned company was losing money after rapid expansion. She led an operational restructuring that helped return the business to profitability. Rather than simply overseeing its eventual sale, Campbell participated in a management buyout from RBS in 2010 and relaunched the operation as YourCash Europe. A secondary buyout followed in 2013, making her the majority shareholder and giving her greater control over the company’s growth. YourCash expanded beyond the UK into markets including the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland. In October 2016, US-listed payments company Euronet Worldwide acquired YourCash, then operating approximately 5,000 ATMs across those four countries. Euronet later reported an acquisition price of approximately $62.6 million in cash.

Her move into Dragons’ Den therefore came after she had already completed a significant company-building and exit story. Campbell appeared across the program’s fifteenth and sixteenth series and says she invested in 12 businesses during her two-series run. Her public work has continued beyond television through business speaking, mentoring and initiatives supporting enterprise and women in business; in 2025 she appeared as a keynote speaker at Women Mean Business in Bermuda. Campbell also has an interest far removed from banking and investment: she breeds and shows Flat-Coated Retrievers at championship level under the RONEVORG kennel name and is an accredited breed judge. That combination of corporate banking, turnaround management, ownership, investing and an established life outside television helps explain why searches for Jenny Campbell often extend well beyond her relatively brief period as a BBC Dragon.
